Bergen County OEM Leads Us Into Public Safety UAS Training Program Validation

LT Matt Tiedemann and Matthew Ziemkiewicz, both OEM program directors with Bergen County, contacted UASA for help with designing and implementing a county-wide drone program. UASA suggested a multi-agency approach, and this week delivered the Academy's UASA 555: Maintenance, Operations, Safety, and Training 4-day course for UAS program leaders. The course is designed to challenge the participants in all aspects of the UAS program management, including policy, data management, flight crew development, equipment selection, and after action review. The course includes numerous flight operations that help MOST Program Executives gain a full understanding of the complexities of flying in public safety incidents and patrols.
