UASA's LASR Strike Team Website Adds Online Booking of Open Enrollment Public Safety Courses

After a solid 2017, with training at public safety academy locations in TX, CA, DE, OK, and NJ we needed to expand the program to facilitate individuals seeking UASA Certification for the use of Land.Air.Sea Robotics (LASR) towards establishing or upgrading their robotics team-members.

To ensure a smooth and nationwide program expansion, UASA has set up online booking for individual public safety personnel. Pick a location and date/time that works for you. Larger programs can still engage UASA directly for programs at their location.

Over the past 2 years I have personally taught as many of these courses as time allowed so that I could help define the requirements for effective use of the robotics tools in the public safety industry. We learned a couple important lessons. First, the best instructors will be career public safety professionals who are trainer to be instructors in a solid "train the trainer" program; and Second, these are only tools so programs that are rigid and not able to address the cultural and leadership differences between different public safety departments and agencies will fall short of delivering a standard while ensuring the human factor is still the center of the program.

As cool and important as these tools are, it's not about the technology.
