The State of Delaware made a decision in JUN 2016 to cross-train all of it's drone pilots so that in the event of a call-out the closest 2 pilots could team up to respond as a crew. This takes significant standardization. In the past 3 months Delaware has trained more than 30 pilots in 11 agencies, all to the same level of capability, using state-maintained standards of performance. Modeled after the UASA LASR Strike Team program, the state then added it's own internal requirements and established an instructor cadre (UASA certified and periodically evaluated by UASA for standardization). This group picture at the UAS Program Training Center shows Instructor Candidates from Dover PD; DELDoT; Wilmington PD; DNREC; DEMA; and Delaware State Police.
